👋 Introduction: A God Who Knows My Name
My dear brothers and sisters,
Have you ever had an ordinary day turn into a life-changing moment? Moses was simply tending sheep, a normal day in the wilderness, when God appeared through a burning bush.
Today, the Lord reminds us: He meets us in our ordinary routines but calls us to something greater.
🔥 First Reading – Exodus 3:1-6, 9-12: A Holy Encounter
Moses was in exile, probably feeling forgotten. Yet God breaks into his life, calling him by name:
“Moses, Moses.”
Moses answers, “Here I am.”
God reveals Himself as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and says:
“I have seen the suffering of my people, I have heard their cry, and I have come down to deliver them.”
Then God sends Moses. Moses feels unqualified, but God promises:
“I will be with you.”
📌 Lesson: God calls the ordinary, strengthens the weak, and promises His presence to those He sends.
🙏 Psalm 103 – The Lord Is Kind and Merciful
The psalm reminds us: God does not deal with us according to our sins. He forgives, heals, and redeems.
📌 No matter our past, we can always begin again when God calls us.
👶 Gospel – Matthew 11:25-27: God Reveals Himself to the Humble
Jesus rejoices in the Father, who chooses to reveal His heart not to the proud or powerful, but to the little ones—the humble, the childlike, the open-hearted.
📌 Lesson: God seeks hearts that are simple, open, and trusting—not perfect, but willing.
🧭 Connecting the Readings
Today’s message is clear:
-
God sees our struggles.
-
He knows us by name.
-
He calls us from ordinary life into His extraordinary plans.
-
What God asks of us is not perfection, but openness—humility, trust, and a readiness to respond.
✅ Life Questions
-
Am I attentive to God’s quiet call in my daily life?
-
Am I holding back because I feel unworthy?
-
Do I believe God can use me, with all my weaknesses, for His purpose?
💬 Closing Thought
“Your ordinary life is the place where God wants to do extraordinary things.”
— Adapted from Saint John Henry Newman
🙏 Concluding Prayer
Lord,
thank You for calling me by name.
Like Moses, I sometimes feel small, weak, or unworthy. But You remind me that it is not about my strength, but Your presence.
You see the suffering of the world, and You call me to be part of Your mission of hope and love.
Give me the humility to listen, the courage to respond, and the faith to trust Your promise:
“I will be with you.”
Help me to serve You joyfully today, not in fear, but in confidence that You walk beside me.
May my life give You glory and bring peace to those around me.
Amen.
